I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
